About Heim Studios

What is Heim Studios?

Heim Studios is a Norwegian fashion brand that designs minimalist, sculptural products with a focus on sustainability. The brand challenges the throwaway mentality of the fashion industry by primarily using surplus materials and producing locally in Norway.

What does "Home" mean?

The name "Heim" has a double meaning. It is part of the name of the brand's founder Mathias Blåsmo's hometown, Trondheim, and also means "home" in Norwegian. It symbolizes my desire for you to feel at home in my designs, regardless of gender identity.

What are Heim Studios' vision and values?

My vision is to create timeless, sustainable design that contributes to a circular economy. I value transparency, quality, craftsmanship and inclusion, and make conscious choices throughout the value chain.

Production

Where is The Sail Bag manufactured?

The bag is proudly made by highly skilled tailors in Norway, at Manufacture Oslo in Økern.

Why do you choose local production in Norway?

Local production provides full control over quality, ethical working conditions and reduces transport emissions. I am also proud to support Norwegian industry and be close to the process for flexibility and innovation.

Materials and Sustainability

What is meant by "surplus materials" (deadstock)?

Surplus materials are high-quality fabrics and leathers that have already been produced but not used by major fashion houses or factories. By giving these materials a new life, we minimize waste and avoid new production of raw materials, which saves resources and reduces our environmental footprint.

Why do you use surplus materials?

I choose to use surplus materials to reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry. It helps reduce waste, conserve water and energy, and reduce carbon emissions associated with new production. It also makes Heim Studio's products unique and more rare.

Where do you get the materials from?

I source surplus materials, including Italian leather and Tencel, from reputable Italian suppliers like Zerow and Fabric House, who specialize in collecting and reselling unused materials from luxury and high-end productions.

What certifications do your materials have?

While surplus materials themselves rarely come with individual certificates, I choose suppliers like Zerow (affiliated with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation) and Fabric House (with the "Circular Fabric Standard"), which have a clear commitment to sustainability and circular economy in their operations.

Ordering and Delivery

Where do you ship goods?

As of now, we only ship goods within Norway.

What are the shipping costs and delivery time?

For The Sail Bag, shipping costs are included in the price. From the start of production until you have the bag at your home, it should take 7-10 business days. You will of course be carefully informed every step of the process!

What is the right of return?

Heim Studios offers a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day you receive the product. The product must be returned in unused condition and in its original packaging. Please contact us if you wish to return.
